Our Zero Defects Policy
We at Piper Windows understand how upsetting it is when your eagerly awaited new conservatory or windows do not arrive on time and fit first time. Our Fits First Time policy together with our Japanese inspired Zero Defects programme seeks to eliminate these problems.
The first stage in this process was to identify the problem. Secondly we alone amongst double glazing window manufacturers analysed and accepted our responsibility for solving these problems.
We made it our objective to have our products arrive on the promised day and that they would fit first time. We therefore turned to the Japanese quality programmes and selected the process known as a Zero Defects programme to reduce and then eliminate the causes of the problems.
What is ZERO DEFECTS?
The Zero Defects programme recognises that there are many component parts and processes in manufactured products. For example in the car industry (where this programme was first used) there was not just an unreliable dynamo by itself. The dynamo included steel, copper, plastic, brass, carbon parts and sub-assemblies. The programme looked at the quality of these materials. The car manufacturer then worked with the dynamo manufacturer to go back to their suppliers and check the quality of their raw materials. If necessary they went back to the mining and smelting companies to ensure the quality and consistency of their manufacturing practices. This often involved the training and re-training of their staff. In this way the causes of poor quality were identified and progressively eliminated. Eventually the dynamo and every other part of the car, although from a multitude of different suppliers, had a consistent and reliable performance. When they were all assembled together the car worked first time and could be delivered without the constant rectification that was the practice here in the UK at that time. As the years pass then any problems arising from usage can be analysed in the same way. Ultimately therefore you end up with what can truly be called a Zero Defects attitude and outcome.
We at Piper Windows are on this Zero Defects journey which underpins our Fits First Time policy.
However there is more than just a Zero Defects programme involved. We constantly innovate and invest in our products development and manufacture. Where possible, we use our own staff and train them in our techniques. We truly care about our performance and your satisfaction and will constantly improve our offering.
